Love this camera. It takes great video. The optical Image stabilizer is a handy feature for shaky hands. Plus it records HD video in stereo sound. Not like the old video cameras with crappy sound recording. The pictures it takes are great quality. Easy to use. Highly recommend! Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom LCD

Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 4x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD (Silver)
. Is that you have with you. The beauty of Canon's ELPH series that fits easily in your pocket, well built / designed, do not cost much, come with a boatload of resources and take great photos. The SD1300, the last ELPH line continues this tradition, adding sophistication and sacrifices some additional features useful in the interest of reducing costs.
It is a tiny camera and carries the baggage that comes with the convenience of having to carry as little baggage. (Sorry, could not resist) None of the questions raised, and that comes as part of the convenience trade-off made me think other than the 5-star rating, this camera deserves.
- Many features are only accessible through menus, sometimes several layers deep. The good news is automatic and scene modes are very good (as long as you take a moment to review what they do). This camera is not intended to be used in opening or shutter priority, manual, much less complete.
- Battery life may be less than expected. This is a trade-off of having a camera that is small and light, you get a battery that is small and light. One thing you can do is get a spare battery. That is good advice for any camera. Another thing that helps is to keep showing as much as possible. This means using the monitor to a minimum. The "sad" is that Canon decided to put the viewfinder on this model. This means that a camera that is simpler and less expensive to make, but will go through batteries faster because you have to use the screen while the image.
- The response of the camera is a little slow to effectively increase children and pets. The trick to doing this is to have a great sense of timing and a shutter that reacts instantly burst mode and reasonably fast (> 4 times / s). This camera has none.
Some other suggestions that apply:
- Use the lowest ISO available depending on your requirements for any aperture or shutter speed. To avoid technical and higher education always has a high ISO noise. The question is when it becomes apparent. In new DSLR you can get over 1000, maybe more, depending on the camera before the noise becomes noticeable. For this camera, keeping it below 200 is a good idea.
- Do not use the camera in focus. Digital images often benefit from sharpening, but it is better to use a photo editing program. Team-based algorithms tend to be more sophisticated and can better assess the results in the LCD monitor instead of the camera.
- If you want to have more vivid colors and choose sRGB instead of Adobe RGB. As they become less colors are distributed in a wide range. Also to be better at computer monitors, many commercial laboratories, and anywhere else images may appear.
Finally, I found the Caselogic QPB-1 Compact Digital Camera Case (Black / Grey) is the right size for this camera. It is semi-rigid in order to get a reasonable amount of protection, but it adds a lot of money. Even better is using one, Nite Ize SB1-2PK-01-1 S-Biner Size, Black, 2-Pack, for attachment to belt.
By the way, I feel the honest and effective review can take the place of first hand experiences that are not present in online shopping. I've always appreciated the help I received from other users and work hard to return the favor as best I can. I hope you found this review helpful and if there was something you thought lost or confused leave a comment and I'll do what I can fix it.
